This page explains how to permanently delete your Dokani account and the business data linked to it. We respect your right to control your data and will process every valid deletion request.

Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, all business data linked to it — customers, suppliers, items, sales, purchases, payments, expenses, accounts, and notes — will be removed from our cloud database and cannot be recovered. Make sure to export or back up anything you want to keep before requesting deletion.

How to request deletion

To request deletion of your account, send an email from the same phone number's registered owner email (or the email you used to contact us) with the following information:

Step 1. Open your email app and send a message to dokani@rushdha.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request — Dokani".

Step 2. Include in the body:

Your registered 11-digit Bangladeshi phone number (the one you used to sign up, e.g. 01XXXXXXXXX).
Your business name as it appears in the app.
(Optional) The reason you want to delete the account.

Step 3. We will reply within 7 working days to confirm your identity. We may send a one-time verification code to your registered phone number to make sure the request is genuine.

Step 4. Once verified, your account and associated data will be deleted within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

What gets deleted

The following data is permanently deleted from our cloud database and the local copy on every device you used:

What we keep (and why)

A small amount of information may be retained for a limited time, strictly to meet legal and operational requirements:

Data type	Retention period	Reason
Subscription payment records (transaction ID, amount, date)	5 years	Required for tax and accounting compliance under Bangladeshi law. These records do not include any business data you entered into the app.
Server access logs (IP, timestamp, route)	90 days	Standard web-server logs for security and abuse prevention.
The fact that this phone number previously held an account	Indefinite (anonymized)	Stored only as a one-way hash, so we do not accidentally re-issue OTP codes or restore deleted data.

Deleting individual records (without closing your account)

If you want to remove specific items rather than your entire account, you can do it from inside the app:

Open the relevant screen (e.g. Parties, Items, Accounts, Transactions).
Tap the record you want to remove.
Choose "মুছুন" (Delete) from the options menu.
The record is soft-deleted locally and removed from our cloud database on the next sync.
